Coffee for Irritable Bowel Syndrome? Puroast sale.
0 Comments Published by tummyblogger September 20th, 2007 in coffee, general, IBS, IBS-C, Soy Coffee, IBS DietPuroast is one of a few brands of low acid coffee. Since coffee is my “Essential Food Group” and since my tummy is now pretty stable, I ordered it and tried it a couple of times, using 1/2 measure Puroast and 3/2 measure Rocamojo Soy Coffee. Both were in mocha flavor, and the resulting chocolate […]

Beginning Digestive Advantage-IBS
0 Comments Published by tummyblogger September 17th, 2007 in generalI’ve had a comprehensive exchange of emails with David Rotshtein at Ganeden Biotech, the makers of Digestive Advantage - IBS. We agreed that I would take DA-IBS and post regularly about it and the effects, or lack of effects, I experienced. In addition, I would be free to comment on various aspects of marketing and […]
“Attacking the Bacteria that Causes IBS” - An Interesting Advertising Phrase
0 Comments Published by tummyblogger September 11th, 2007 in Probiotics, Amazon, general, IBS, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Online sourcesAmazon is, or customers are, tagging some of its products with “IBS,” and hoping to generate some sales. As one of their “other” ads, they have a one-line ad for Digestrin which runs as follows:
Suffering From IBS? — Attack The Bacteria That Causes IBS And Eliminate The Sumptoms Today — www.digestrin.com

IBS Probiotic Align - This Is Not Good
26 Comments Published by tummyblogger August 27th, 2007 in Probiotics, general, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, AlignLast week, on Wednesday August 22, 2007, I opened the 7-day pack of Align ™ for my last two weeks of reviewing the patented probiotic product. On that day I also ordered the next month of Align ™ from their web site. The day of the week was Wednesday. While I have a note of the order and the date and the confirmation code, I do not remember what
Funny [or not so much]
I was using a feed validator to check on the feed for another blog, when I thought to myself: “Why not check ForMyTummy.com?” I entered the name of this blog into the RSS validator, and one of the problems it highlighted was as follows
“line 342, column 0: style attribute contains potentially dangerous content: align (2 occurrences) [help]”
followed by this code:
ul style=align: center;
I suppose that if I were to take a message from this about the ForMyTummy blog, it would be that it’s dangerous for the blog to have so much content about Align. There should be more coverage about other aspects of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
Align is Safe
Align, more than any other dietary supplement or probiotic for IBS has been tested for safety, as well as efficacy. That is, it is safe and effective specifically for IBS.
Align Promotional Discount Code
Moving away from the lighthearted, I want to mention again that I have a promotional code you can use to buy Align. Write a serious comment to any post on this blog, send me a message at tummyblogger [at] gmail.com that you have written a comment, and I’ll send you the promotional code for the $5 discount. We don’t know yet whether it is reusable; I certainly hope so.
How to Comment
Commenting is easy. Just click on the “no comments” or “comments (2)” or whatever the number that always appears at the end of a post on the lower right hand side.
IFFGD- International Foundation for Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders

As their URI indicates, the IFFGD is aboutibs.org, an organization and web site devoted to Irritable Bowel Syndrome (and, perhaps, other functional GI disorders). I’ve just added a link to their web site in the sidebar.
Patient Advocates for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
The IFFGD organization is, I think, the closest to a “patient-advocacy” […]

Table: Effects of PREbiotics and PRObiotics on IBS
0 Comments Published by tummyblogger July 9th, 2007 in Probiotics, general, IBS, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, FiberSure (tm), Digesting InformationI have modified the following table, which provides a shorthand summary of this review article on PREbiotics and PRObiotics. There was a typo on the entries which are now Hyperlipedemia and Hypercholesterolemia.

It is information that documents the helpful effects of PREbiotics such as FiberSure (Inulin) and Levan, though it doesn’t mention Acacia, which is a more complete fructo-oligo-saccharide (FOS), and is known for its use in the management of IBS. The language is sometimes technical, but you can also glean a lot from the Abstracts at the beginning
