Drs. Mehmet Oz and Michael Roizen on Oprah Radio
Published by tummyblogger November 14th, 2007 in Probiotics, general, Digesting Information, SustenexSustenex ™ is a variant on Ganeden BC ^30 ™, a probiotic used also in the Digestive Advantage ™ line of products for IBS, IBS-C, Crohn’s Disease, and Lactose Intolerance.
Sustenex, however, is marketed as a health-promotion product, rather than as a health-improvement product like the Digestive Advantage line. I cannot find out from the online literature whether there is the same amount of Ganeden BC^30 in each of the Ganeden products. I would be interested to know the differences among their products.
The reason I have been reading the Sustenex materials at www.sustenex.com is that I received a press release from them (Ganeden Biotech), which is reproduced here, without the main image.

I am seeking an all natural probiotic product
any suggestions?
Dear Diane,
I did respond in detail to your concerns about the apparently unnatural ingredients in Align, in your reply to my post at this URI: http://www.formytummy.com/2007/09/06/align-for-irritable-bowel-syndrome-ibs-review-weeks-7-and-8/#comments
Basically, there I separate probiotics into
a) foods
b) encapsulated delivery systems
c) the probiotic contents of (b) above
There are some things that the makers of the b & c combinations include, like a dye to make a caplet more appealing in color, or an artificial sweetener that makes the combination chewable, or milk, because the source of (c) is lactobacillus, that cause concern for some people.
The combination of (b) and (c) that avoids all of these, to my mind, is Digestive Advantage-IBS in capsule form (not chewable form). I hope that answers your question.
All the best,
