It is likely that after a while the good bacteria in the probiotics targeted for IBS, like Digestive Advantage-IBS (tm) and Align (tm), will correct any bacterial imbalance. The trouble is, we don't know when that would occur for any one individual. There is no research on stopping a probioitic. Let me think about criteria for stopping.

Yes, it has helped my stomach mellow and I have more confidence in my day-to-day activities.
However, with the main ingredient being "good bacteria" I am wondering if I simply have a bacterial imbalance stemming from a bad episode of samonella some time ago...?
