I’ve had a comprehensive exchange of emails with David Rotshtein at Ganeden Biotech, the makers of Digestive Advantage - IBS. We agreed that I would take DA-IBS and post regularly about it and the effects, or lack of effects, I experienced. In addition, I would be free to comment on various aspects of marketing and product availability and product placement.
This is NOT a paid review, other than getting free samples of the product for an extended period. The arrangement is similar to that which I had with Align. DA-IBS is, like Align, a probiotic specifically designed for therapy of Irritable Bowel syndrome.
The arrangement is that I will take Digestive Advantage - IBS caplets, which do NOT have sucralose, for the first 32 days of the review period. Then I will switch to DA-IBS chewable tablets for the next 32 days, which DO have sucralose, to check whether it makes a difference in the experience.
I tried to negotiate a coupon for readers similar to the promo code for Align. Rotshtein notes in his letter that he can offer a $2 coupon off any in-store purchase–but that if you order a free 8-day sample on DigestiveAdvantage.com
you will get a $4 coupon to use in the store.
What is available in the CVS across the street where I do my research :-) is Digestive Advantage - IBS chewable tablets, for one month. Both this form and DA-IBS caplets are available from Amazon.comas well.
In two comparisons, Digestive Advantage - IBS is way ahead of Align:
- DA-IBS packages its product in sets of 32, rather than 28. That allows budgeting for monthly purchase of DA-IBS.
- DA-IBS costs a great deal less. The cost per day for one caplet of DA-IBS ordered from Amazon.com, not counting shipping, is $0.19. The cost per day for one caplet of Align, without the promo code, ordered from their web site, is $1.07. If you were to pay full price for DA-IBS caplets, also $29.95 like Align, the cost per day would be $0.33.
That’s an impressive difference.
