ALERT - FDA HAS PULLED ZELNORM
The Food and Drug Administration has very recently announced a mandatory recall of Zelnorm from the market. This drug was extensively marketed at a website called help4ibs.com, not to be confused with the Heather Van Vorous website, www.helpforIBS.com. Heather’s site was there first

IBS Drug Zelnorm Withdrawn from USA Market by FDA
On March 30, 2007, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requested that Novartis Pharmaceuticals voluntarily discontinue marketing of Zelnorm (tegaserod) based on the recently identified finding of an increased risk of serious cardiovascular adverse events (heart problems) associated with use of the drug. Novartis has agreed to voluntarily suspend marketing of the drug in the United States.
You can find and read the rest in the Help for IBS Newsletter released today. While the news about Zelnorm is the headline, you won’t find the article until you get about halfway down the page.
For people who are dropping Zelnorm, I will post more in the next few days on ways of changing your food patterns to assist in managing IBS-C, the form of IBS that deals with constipation.
